What is poultry battery cage?

Poultry battery cage also named poultry cage or battery cage and mainly is rearing egg laying chicken, after pullet growing up to 12 weeks or 16 weeks transport them to layer cage. Its biggest advantage is increasing egg production, easily handle chicken waste and reduce disease transmission.

1) How chicken drinking ?

Mark “1” is nipple drinker and water pipe, automatic water out when chicken mouth touch drinker
2) how feeding chicken ?
Mark “2” is feeding tough, add chicken feed manually
3) how eggs out ?
Mark “3” is egg bottom mesh, about 6cm space opening for egg rolling out
4)when chicken transfer to cage ?
12 weeks to 16 weeks in laying egg producing period

A single set of battery cage includes cage mesh, cage frame, feeding trough, water pipe and tank, nipple drinker (drinking automaticly) and installation nuts. Egg roll out on egg bottom mesh

There are many size and type of layer cage in market, you should choose as weight and size of your birds, also the climate in your country.

For example, cage of 1.5KG birds is smaller than cage of 2.5KG birds. Cage of 2.5KG birds is stronger than cage of 1.5KG birds, cages in hot weather such as NIGERIA, UGANDA and so on African countries is rusting faster than cages in cool weather the lifespan of same quality of chicken layer cage will be very different.

How to build House ground/Pit ?

Following picture is showing the installation of manure cleaning system

1)Depth: about 30cm
2)Width: 1.8m (5.9ft)
3)Length: it is as the chicken house, the pool is outside the chicken house
4) Passage: 30cm higher than level, pit is at level line, dung is easy to clean outside chicken house

Of course you will get instruction of manure scrapers with your poultry cage

What is the necessary equipment besides poultry battery cages for different capacity of birds?

Vertical type? or Oblique type ? With equipment or not?

1. below 2000 birds

Manual battery cage, workers will put food in chicken trough and picked eggs, in future if you want to enlarge your farm to 10,000+ birds, our automatic feeding equipment and automatic egg collection will be installed on the using layer cage directly.

2. between 5000 birds to 20000 birds

Beside battery cage, we advice you choose manure removal system, chicken dropping cleaning once a day or two days, keep poultry house cleaning and air fresh, reduce disease and improve egg production rate. Some farmers also make feed themsevle and order feed scrusher and mixer, manure drying machine

3. 50000+ birds

Farmers could have 4 or 5 houses to contain, large one should consider some automatic equipment, 1 or 2 person manages a house, auto feeding hopper, auto egg collection and manure removal system, feed mill and manure drying machine too.

1. Easy to clean chicken waste
There is no overlap of every tiers of battery cage, chicken waste directly drops down to the ground, clean it by water or by manure removal scraper, In deep litter system you had to move all birds then clean.

3. Normally the walking way is between 0.7m to 1m, building pit under cage system, the distance between the wall and cage row is 0.7m

Maintaining

1. After finish installation, clean the feeding trough
2. Connect water, to make sure the whole drinking system is well from row beginning to end
3. After 2 years using, move all birds, clean the cage mesh
4. Replace the nipple drinkers if they link water to protect brid feather, medicinal water will make feather fall off
